We have been supplying fine S scale parts and products for many years, and you may have seen us at one of the many shows we've attended through the years. We also have been publishing a catalog of S parts and supplies you may have seen. Well, this is the Internet age, and Hoquat Hobbies is now On-Line! This website is updated regularly, so please check back often! We also post our Newsletters as they are published. We'd also love to hear from you with any comments, complaints, or suggestions.

We have now listed all of the current production S-Helper Service freight cars, plus all current American Models Box Cars. Click the Freight Cars Tab above. You can see a picture of most cars by adding them to your cart, then clicking View. If its not the one you want, just remove it from the cart and start over.

Special note for our NJ customers: to take the sting (or most of it) out of the sales tax that we are required to charge NJ customers, all orders shipped to NJ will get a 5% discount before calculating tax. This won't show up in the shopping cart, but we will deduct the 5% before charging your card!

The big news of last summer is that the Chinese firm that produces model rail road items for numerous firms has informed about 40 of those firms that it no longer wishes to service them. Unfortunately for S scale, this list included American Models, Des Plaines Hobbies and S Helper Service. It is my understanding that this change has little impact on Des Plaines, but will have major impact on S Helper Service. At present it is unclear what S Helper will be doing.

8/26/10 We just received the following from American Models: " Due to the uncertain situation with our overseas builder and molds not yet returned to us, we have to implement some changes concerning our supply of low inventory items which are made or assembled in China. This situation is going to be costly . We hope this will not last long. We cannot discount any 484 Northern steam engines. We only have the Milwaukee 462 Pacific steam engine with a discount. TM: We only have the Wabash Train Masters we can discount. U25: We only have Frisco, EL, GN and C&O we can discount. E8: Concerning the E8s we will continue, Missouri Pacific and Southern Pacific for a time (at the standard discount). Others are not available at a discount. Budd sets: Only the MP and SP sets can be discounted at this time. On Budd coaches for separate sale only the MKT Texas Special, MP and SP can be discounted. Price increases: The basic wood caboose price is raised to $49.95 Transformer sale is now off with retail unchanged at $109.95"

We have a retail store location stocked with lots of S, both new and old! We are at 77 Cliffwood Ave, Suite 7C, Cliffwood, NJ.

Store Hours: Our current Hours of operation are: Monday, Thursday, Friday 10:00-4:00, plus 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month 10:00-3:00, except holiday weekends. We will be closed July 1-10 for the NASG Convention.
